Cloud based automated testing or, in an acronym, Test Automation as a Service (TaaaS)
Practically every area of the commercial software industry is being continuously revolutionised by new concepts and technologies.
Moore’s law seems to be holding true, higher bandwidth, ever increasing processing power, cheap data storage, universal internet connectivity, ubiquitous mobile platforms, streaming media, powerful software frameworks, new architectural concepts such as SOA.
The diversity and customer reach of web technologies is a fabulous opportunity for many organisations, but it is also a minefield of complexity requiring new skills and new thinking. Testing must work pro actively with business to address these opportunities.
A proactive integrated test automation can be triggered to run automatic tests by events such as successful CI builds or project milestones. The proactive test automation would then retrieve the system under test from version control and perform functional, integration or any desired test type.
