Sydney Ember

Sydney Ember is an American journalist.
When Ember joined The New York Times in March 2015 various media outlets reported that her role was in beat reporting for advertising and marketing.
In August 2015 Ember married Michael Bechek, then a business student and associate at Hellman & Friedman. Bechek was a senior associate consultant and son of the former CEO of Bain Capital, which is a relevant association in the context of the perspective of Ember's financial journalism.
In 2018 a conversation between Ember and journalist Kimi Yoshino were part of a controversy in journalism.
In summer 2019 various media outlets criticized Ember's reporting of Bernie Sanders in the context of his 2020 presidential campaign. Sanders has claimed that Ember fails to apply objectivity on the issues about which she writes. She has also been criticized for the sources that she uses in her reporting on Bernie Sanders. <ref name"Halper 28 June 2019"/><ref name"Halper 2019"/>
