Sybe Airport

(IATA: SYH) (ICAO: YSSB)
Sybe Airport, Sybe International Airport, or 'Sybe', is an international airport located at Holsworthy, Sydney, Australia. The airport was built and began serving as an international airport only, until expansion allowed domestic and regional services to commence. The airport's scheduled international flights connect many more countries to Sydney, Australia, particularly countries in Europe.
Runways
The airport has three runways, all running parallel to each other. Runway 4R is the longest, being 4000 meters long; able to safely operate an Airbus A380 in and out of the airport. Runway 4C is the middle runway, being 3500 meters long. Runway 4L is the closest to the terminal building, and is 3500 meters long.
Terminals
The airport currently has two terminals; a domestic terminal (Terminal D) and an international terminal (Terminal I).
Curfew
Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport has a curfew to reduce aircraft noise between the hours of 11pm until 6am the following day. To allow flexibility for airlines and their arrival and departure times in and out of Sybe Airport, the airport curfew at Sybe Airport is 12:00am until 5:00am. Both terminals remain operational 24 hours a day, but with limited hospitality services (i.e. shops, dining etc.) between 11:30pm and 2:00am.
Because of the airport's curfew, each day, the first international flight departs at 5:05am, and the first domestic flight departs at 6:00am. In the evening, the last domestic flight arrives at 10:35pm, and the last international flight arrives at 10:55pm. Despite the curfew allowing noise between 12:00am and 5:00am, no flights are scheduled to depart or arrive between 11pm and 12am. This hour is nicknamed the 'lag' because its main purpose is seen to be allowing any delayed flights to arrive or depart the airport before the curfew kicks in.
Background
Sybe Airport is the first airport in the world to operate twice daily services to McMurdo Station, Antartica. These flights are operated by Qantas, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft. There is a morning and evening departure, and a morning and evening arrival. However, these services are vulnerable to cancellation due to the weather conditions in Antartica.
