Susanne Winter (born 23 July 1957) is a lawyer and politician for the right-wing Freedom Party of Austria in the southern Austrian city of Graz. She has come under recent scrutiny after expressing the opinion that Islamic prophet Mohammed would be considered a child abuser by today's standard, for his marriage to a 6-year old girl, and for warning that Austria faces an "Islamic immigration tsunami". She was convicted, and given a suspended sentence of two years in prison for incitement to hatred and degradation of religious doctrines (Verhetzung und Herabwürdigung religiöser Lehren). |
