Susan L. Combs

Susan L. Combs is founder and president of Combs & Company, LLC, a full service insurance brokerage firm headquartered in New York, NY. Combs carries certifications with the New York State SHOP Exchange, the New York Individual Exchange, and the Federal SHOP and Individual Exchanges. Combs is licensed in 16 states. Combs is a certified Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) consultant and an expert witness for law firms. She is a member of the Corporate Wellness Advisory Board for the NYC Department of Health, the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), and New York Women in Film & Television, as well as Griffiths Society Mentor. Combs also is the former MizzouNYC Chapter Athletics Director and plays on charitable softball, football and hockey leagues to support the University of Missouri Scholarship Fund.
In 2005, at the age of 26, Combs founded Combs & Company, an insurance brokerage firm specializing in property and casualty, health, and life coverages. Combs was a 2014 recipient of the SmartCEO BRAVA! Award, which recognizes female CEOs who combine their entrepreneurship with mentoring and community involvement.<ref name=smart/>
She was a 2014 National Underwriter Industry Elite Award winner where she is listed as the Best Rising Star and the most notable industry professional under the age of 40.<ref name=lhp2/>
