Surrender of Alara

Surrender of Alara was a siege movement that took place on the way back to Antalya after the conquest of Kalonoros by the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Kayqubad.
After capturing Kalonoros, Sultan Kayqubad moved to Antalya to spend the winter. On the way he saw the Alara Castle, which was led by Kir Fard's brother. The Sultan sent a number of people from the state power to the castle with some soldiers and informed them that his brother had surrendered about a month ago and that if he surrendered, he would be rewarded by the Sultan, otherwise the castle would be taken by force. But the castle owner died before he could respond to this offer. The notables of the city then agreed to hand over the castle to the Sultan. The castle was taken over and the Seljuk banner was erected on the castle walls. Thus, the Conquest of Kalonoros was completed.
