Superscope story teller

The Superscope Story Teller series was created for children by the Superscope company in the 1970's. Each set contained one small book (similar to the Little Golden Books) and an audiocassette. These were narrated and performed by a full cast and had a soundtrack of classical music. The cassettes were subtitled as "A Dramatization with music of the Great Masters." The illustrations for these books were done by Rex Irvine and John Strejan. The first edition was released simply as "The Story Teller" (or, alternatively as "Tele-Story"), while subsequent editions were renamed as "The Superscope Story Teller". These productions are notable as they are some of the earliest examples of audiobooks for children, as cassettes proved to be more portable and more durable than records.
