Superpoly Fabric

Superpoly is a 100% Polyester knitted fabric primarily used for sportswear and upholstery. One side of superpoly fabric has glossy texture, smooth feel and the second side is brushed or raised which gives cotton like feel. The glossy side is the face side of the fabric and brushed side is the back side of the fabric. In the garment, the brushed side gives a soft and comfortable feel to the body.
The main source location of superpoly fabric is China. India is the biggest importer of superpoly fabric from China. In india, thousands of tonnes of superpoly is imported every year. It is highly consumed by Indian garment manufacturers for domestic as well as export purpose. New Delhi, capital city of India, is the biggest importer of superpoly in India.
History
Superpoly was first brought in the Indian market in 2000. It is the time when China export market started flourishing. Before the advent of superpoly in India, the polyester Hosiery product JackBro of Ludhiana and Amritsar provinces of Punjab, was a dominating fabric item for sportswear, tracksuits and track pants. But the quality, finish, smooth texture, dyeing and color fastness, durability of superpoly is not available in JackBro of Punjab. That was the reason, superpoly came up with an alternative to the JackBro of Punjab. Gradually, its sale in India started increasing, though less in the beginning. Year by Year, a number of importers, traders and garment manufacturers started entering in the business of superpoly fabric, bringing revoluation in the sportswear industry and today superpoly is a prominent fabric item for sportswear category in India.

In addition to its huge demand in India, it is a highly competitive fabric item in India. As superpoly is a knitted fabric, it is usually sold on the basis of weight(Kilograms). The price of superoly also vary on the basis of the season. In winter, its price increases because the demand and consumption of superpoly increases for tracksuits and track pant manufacturing. Superpoly is primarly a winter item but its demand is throughout year, though less in summer. That is why, its price drastically decreases in the summer season. Its price also fluctuates,though less, on the daily basis just like share market, though it is not a share market product.
August is considered to be the beginning for the uplift of the superpoly sale in the Indian market. This heavy sale of superpoly last upto the following January and after that the graph of sales of superpoly starts decreasing due to decrease in demand. So the price also decreases because of less demand and heavy availability of superpoly stock in the market. This slow down of superpoly sales last upto June or July.
