Sunil Sihag 'Gora' (born March 26, 1984) retired from the Indian Air Force in 2016 to become a social activist, film producer, media consultant and author. He established the Gora Foundation Trust in memory of his late grandmother, Gaura Devi Sihag. His debut novel, Day Turns Dark: A Tale Of Unrequited Love'Day Turns Dark' which is set to shortly release as a web series is now being turned into a web series. He is the founder of the Gora Foundation Trust, Sunil Sihag Gora Films Pvt Ltd & Grisu Media Arts & Publishers. Early life Sihag was born on March 26, 1984, in Ganganagar, Rajasthan to Bhagirath Sihag and Draupadi Devi. He completed his schooling in the year 2000 from Government Senior Secondary School, Sri Ganganagar. In the year 2006, he graduated from Jiwaji University Gwalior. In 2008, he completed his Post Graduate in English Literature from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra. He also got his qualification for UGC NET in the year 2015. He is an independent research scholar with two research papers published in an international journal to his credit. At the Air Force he completed his Translation Course from Central Translation Bureau, New Delhi. Career Sihag started his career by joining the Indian Air Force. There he completed 15 years before he ventured into the world of writing. He wrote for several years perfecting his best selling debut novel, ‘Day Turns Dark: A Tale Of Unrequited Love' which was published in early 2021. His novel "Day Turns Dark" ranked first in Amazon's movers and shakers category & ranked second in hot new release category on launch day. The novel is written mainly to finance his altruistic activities. At the launch of his book, he said that he would like to share his resolution with readers that the entire revenue generated by the book will be spent in the organ donation awareness campaign of NOTTO and GORA FOUNDATION. From there, having found his passion, he has also turned into a Screenwriter and Filmmaker. He recently adapted his best selling novel into a web series. He successfully directed & produced the web series. He is a member of Screen Writers Association, Mumbai. Social activist Sihag is a social activist by heart. He was awarded by the honourable Governor of Uttarakhand for his society activities in 2019. His NGO Gora Foundation Trust is running various campaigns viz # Organ donation awareness campaign under the aegis of National Organ & Tissue transplant Organization Delhi, # He has set up five community libraries in rural areas for deprived students. He has made accessible all kinds of books/literature to students free of cost. Students get books on demand for their competitive exams as well as any fictional, non-fictional books. # He has initiated an anti-dowry campaign in which eight couples' marriages solemnised without dowry in simple ceremony in the last two years. # His organisation has adopted thirty four orphan girls for their education and settlement in society. The beneficiaries mainly include the children of unorganised labourers, daily earners and marginalized sections of society. # He didn't shy away from pointing out the injustice plaguing society and led a successful protest movement against a solid waste management plant that was proposed to be set up in his village flouting environment rules beside a canal.
