The Summit Daily is a newspaper in Summit County, Colorado. Its primary digital platform is SummitDaily.com, and it also publishes a free, 8,500-distribution newspaper seven days per week. The newspaper covers the Colorado communities Frisco, Breckenridge, Dillon and Silverthorne, the area ski resorts, and greater Summit County. History The Summit Daily News was founded in August 1989 by Jim Pavelich. The Summit Daily began as a five-day a week paper, added a sixth issue in summer 1992 and a seventh in December 1994. In 1994 the Summit Daily was purchased by Swift Communications. On Jan. 1, 2022, Swift Communications was purchased by Ogden Newspapers, in a sale that included the Summit Daily and 19 other publications.
