Ayo Sultan Tijani (born September 20, 2003), known professionally as Sultan and also known as Sultan Afroboy after his 2020 album "Afroboy", is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter. In 2018, he signed a record deal with Jamika Entertainment, a subsidiary of Henesekorp. He rose to prominence after his first single "Feeling the Sisi" which he released when he was just 13 and his "Baby Shark" album that was nominated for the 2019, Top Naija Music awards. Early life and career Sultan was born in the city of Lagos to Muslim parents from the Yoruba ethnic group. Sultan grew up singing and rapping in Secondary school, he was influenced by the rap styles of Vector and Kendrick Lamar. In 2017, Sultan with support from his mother walked into Jamika Entertainment studio to showcase his talent and he was taken in to learn from the other artists signed under the label but he gradually impressed the management and got signed fully to the label in 2018. In 2018, featuring fellow label mate and experienced street rapper Yung Lord, he released his first single "Feeling the Sisi" that got him major radio airplay and introduced him to the Nigerian music scene as a young and talented artist. On May 1, 2019, he released his first studio album "Baby Shark", the EP comprised 12 songs that included "Feeling the Sisi" and his own version of the children jingle "Baby Shark" and the track "Boys Wanna Have Fun" a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". On October 1, 2020, he released his second studio album "Afroboy", the EP showed a different style from his rapping days in "Baby Shark" to a more contemporary Afrobeats fusion. Awards and nominations Sultan's "Baby Shark" EP got nominated for the 2019, Top Naija Music awards, for 'Album of the Year'.
