Sub-Earth

A Sub-Earth is a low-mass terrestrial planet with at least the mass of our Moon (0.01 M) to half the mass of the Earth at most. There are two sub-Earths in our solar system: Mercury (0.055 M) and Mars (0.107 M).

As of 2008 out of 300 known exoplanets, there is only one known sub-Earth exoplanet, orbiting the pulsar , discovered in 1994. The planet has mass only 2 Lunar masses. Future space telescopes like Kepler should be able to search for this type of planets orbiting the normal stars.
