StrongDM

strongDM is a platform for managing secure access to databases, servers, clusters, and web applications. It is a solution to centralize backend infrastructure access for legacy or multi-cloud environments. strongDM also integrates with identity providers, secret stores, and SIEM tools.
History
strongDM was founded in December 2015 by Elizabeth Zalman, Justin McCarthy, and Schuyler Brown, who recognized the complexity of DevOps teams juggling security and access.
strongDM is a Terraform provider which is an open-source infrastructure as code tool. strongDM uses Terraform's software to give DevOps teams the ability to provision access, as code, the moment resources are deployed. Additionally, the strongDM API includes SDK<nowiki/>s to support automation across Go, Java, Python, Ruby, and other preferred languages.
On May 21, 2018 strongDM launched Comply, which is an open-source product that facilitates the audit process for SOC 2 compliance. Comply approaches compliance by offering a pre-authored library of 24 policies, a dashboard to assign and track compliance tasks, an online course, and integrations with GitHub and Jira.
