Streetboxing
Streetboxing was developed in the beginning of 2004 by Bas Buisman and Martin Fallon and is meant as a self defense system. The techniques were developed after watching lots of footage of real fight situations to ad to the realism of the techniques. Theory on conflict management and fight psychology was added from many studies done by or for law enforcement and the military. The style is like mixed martial arts but geared towards street fighting. Streetboxing focuses on impact and clinch fighting with less enfaces on ground fighting. The style does not have a belt system and supplies a wide variety of techniques so practitioners can take from the system what suits them best. The strong influence of Kyokushinkay Karate and MMA makes it in to a sport that’s both effective and good to keep in shape.
