Biography
Still Rain included vocalist Donnie Hamby (Doubledrive and Violent Plan), guitarist Troy McLawhorn (Doubledrive, Dark New Day ,Evanescence ,and Seether), guitarist Clint Lowery, (Sevendust ,Korn ,and Dark New Day) and bassist Corey Lowery (Stuck Mojo, Stereomud , Switched ,Dark New Day and Violent Plan) and Bevan Davies ( Danzig, Blood Simple, Comes With The Fall, The Mercy Clinic, Dirty Pollyanna and Sehvan). Still Rain played everywhere from Daytona to Atlanta to Louisville, KY. Even as far North as Grand Rapids, MI at Club Eastbrook. Mixing multiple sets of covers with their own original music. Doing this, they built up quite a big following. After doing this for a few years, they decided to go all original, producing their first Album (they had done tapes before, which sold out quickly) called Still Rain. A second Album, Bitter Black Water, soon followed.
After Donnie Hamby left Still Rain in 1995; the rest of them carried on as a band called Mouthpiece and recorded an EP in 1996.
In October of 2008, it was announced that Donnie Hamby,and Corey Lowery would be reuniting along with Corey's fellow Dark New Day and Switched bandmate B.C. Kochmit, to form a new band: Violent Plan.In June of 2009,their first demo song named Underneath,came out on the bands Myspace page.
As for 2009, they have continued to be musically busy both on the road and in the studio. Clint is touring with Sevendust and has also recorded his own solo side project Hello Demons...meet skeletons. Troy is on the road with Seether. Corey is producing Atlanta area bands as well as recording demos with Donnie for Violent Plan. Bevan is recording songs for the forth coming release from christian rock band Sehvan.
