Steve Zissou (born 1955) is an American attorney, with a practice in Federal criminal law in the Bayside, Queens district of New York City. Career He was admitted to legal practice in New York State in 1983. Buena Vista Pictures contacted Zissou in the process of script clearance because of the match between the names. The two parties negotiated an agreement that includes confidential terms, and the closing titles of the film are said to include the wording "The filmmakers acknowledge that the real Steve Zissou is a prominent attorney in New York City specializing in complex federal litigation." Zissou represented Denver Broncos player Travis Henry in the 2007 matter of NFL re-testing of Henry's urine. In 2010, he was an attorney for Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani in the 1998 United States embassy bombings in East Africa, and made the motion, on the third day of jury deliberations, for declaring a hung jury.
