Steve Wilder

Steve Wilder Striegel (born October 23, 1970) is an American actor. He was convicted of two felony sex offenses in 2010 after attempting to lure a 14-year-old girl into a sexual relationship via the internet.
Wilder was born in Cooperstown, New York. He graduated from high school at age 14 and played on the professional tennis circuit through his late teens, going into acting in his 20s. He is also a commercially rated pilot of planes and helicopters and a skipper of sailboats. In 2010, he was arrested, charged, and registered as a sex offender after facing allegations that he attempted to lure a 14-year-old girl into a sexual relationship via the internet. He served six months in jail after pleading guilty to two felonies — risk of injury to a child and enticing a minor by computer.
He was the fifth actor to portray Jack Deveraux on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives. He also played Alex Bastian on Melrose Place and has appeared in several television series such as Charmed and Beverly Hills, 90210. He was originally cast as a minor character in The Predator, but 20th Century Fox removed his scenes a few days before picture lock, when actress Olivia Munn informed the studio of his status as a sex offender. He received the role without audition, as a result of his friendship with director Shane Black, who cast him in similar roles in previous films such as Iron Man 3 and The Nice Guys after his conviction. Black defended the casting as a personal choice to help a friend, whom he had known for five years before his arrest.
