Stan Munsey is one of the many successful writer/musicians to emerge out of the Muscle Shoals, Alabama music scene in the 70's. He started out in junior high school working with a band called "The Chessmen". They had a single released on the Paradox records label which got modest radio airplay in 1975. He was primarily known as a sax player and guitarist until he switched to Hammond B3. He played keys with numerous bands and artists based out of Muscle Shoals, including the Midnighters, till he made the move to Nashville. Once in Nashville, Munsey signed with a major publishing company as a staff songwriter. To date his songs have been recorded by such artists as Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Alabama, Glen Campbell, Shenandoah and many others. His songs are on more than 15 million records sold worldwide. He has also worked as a keyboardist with singer-songwriter, Wendy Waldman on the Dan Fogelberg's Exile tour and with other artists such as Percy Sledge, Rich Grissom, Bill Brandon, Sweet Loraine, Jim Stafford and the Grammy-award winning, country group, Shenandoah. He has been the keyboardist with Shenandoah since 1995 and currently still mans that position. He has recently taken his songwriting into the contemporary Christian market.
