St Athan Football Club

St Athan Football Club is a football team based in St Athan. They known for playing in the Premier Division of the Vale of Glamorgan. Home games are played at St Athan Community Centre. The club claims to have the sponsorship of Adidas, Owens Motor services, dme, The Four Bells pub, Llantwit Valet & Car Wash and Green Future Landscaping.
Not to be confused with MOD St Athan Football Club, which is the Military-only FC.
The Southern Community Centre held a memorial fundraiser event at St Athan Golf Club for the deceased Paul Lewis. The event was organised by Dave Bradbury who worked alongside Paul with the St Athan Football Club.
History
In 2006-2007 St Athan Football Club were promoted from Division Two to Division One but were relegated to Division Two in 2008, to be promoted to division One again in 2008-2009. In 2010 the were once again relegated to division two. In 2010-2011 a heavy seven points and six goals were deducted.
17 January 2013 St Athan play in the Senior Football League. Fixtures show them in Division 2.
June 2015 VI Football Club (VIFC) merge with St Athan FC.
1 April 2016 St Athan FC moved seven points clear and come second place in the Premier Division.
20 April 2016 'Hungover' Saints keep themselves in title hunt thanks to Morgan hat-trick.
28 April 2016 Cardiff Airport Vs St Athan. "Saints" down to 10 men and chances of being 1st in division "went up in smoke".
'Paul Lewis Player of the Year Awards" were given out to Jordan Mortimore and Josh Morgan Monday 6 June 2016.
