Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati VII

Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati VI, the 66th acharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. Was preceded by Sudarshana Mahadevendra Saraswathi and Followed by Mahadevendra Saraswathi V.
It was this Acharya whom young Swaminathan (who later became Chandrashekarendra saraswathi VII, the 68th Acharya of the Mutt) met at Viluppuram in Tamil Nadu.
Chandrashekarendra VI wanted Swaminathan to be the next head of the mutt, but before any decision could be made, he was stuck by a skin disease. Mahadeva V, who was a cousin of Chandrashekarendra VI, and was a student at the Veda patashala then, served the Acharya. The Acharya, finding no immediate contact with Swaminathans family, gave the ascetic order to Mahadeva and asked him to hand it over to Swaminathan.
Chandrashekarendra VI adhishtanam (Samadhi/ Burial Place) is in Kalavai, near Vellore in Tamil Nadu.
