Spaceduck is a composer, cellist, pianist, vocalist and visual artist whose musical and visual style has been associated with the revival of Surrealism, Weimar Classicism and progressive rock. The word 'Spaceduck' is his pseudonym. Due to his insistence on anonymity, very little is known of his personal life. Music Spaceduck is primarily known for his work as a cellist in film and television but has recorded several albums both as 'Spaceduck' as well as with contemporary rock groups. In addition to the cello, Spaceduck plays piano, electric piano, guitar and drums. In 2010 it was announced that he would be composing and performing the music on the upcoming film The Deep. Visual Art Spaceduck has released several music videos, all of a highly expressionistic nature, such as the 2008 Halloween video "Brains". Activism Since the 1990s, Spaceduck has been deeply involved in animal welfare and environmental conservation, stating that all profits from his work go directly to fund animal shelters, wildlife rehabilitation and provide bullet proof vests for police dogs. He currently works with the RSPCA and SPCA International in Europe as well as the Humane Society, SPCA and CFHS in North America.
