Southeast Europe Coalition on Whistleblower Protection

The Southeast Europe Coalition on Whistleblower Protection is a public interest organization of civil society and journalism groups that promotes whistleblower rights and awareness in Southeast and Eastern Europe. The Coalition was founded in Belgrade in November 2015, at a meeting co-sponsored by the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative, the Regional Cooperation Council and Blueprint for Free Speech.
The organization is comprised of more than 25 civil society and journalism organizations in Southeast and Eastern Europe.
The Coalition has been involved in a number of whistleblower and anti-corruption cases in Southeast Europe, including Tuzla Kvarc in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is featured in the documentary "The Price of Justice" ("Cijena Pravde"), "The Invoice" case in Montenegro, in which a Ramada Inn hotel employee was fired after exposing evidence of government wrongdoing, and allegations of illegal logging in a national forest in Romania.
The organization is supporting the development, passage and monitoring of whistleblower protection laws in countries including Albania, Moldova, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Coalition is coordinated by Mark Worth, Director of the International Whistleblower Project at Blueprint for Free Speech in Berlin, and Arjan Dyrmishi of the Institute for Democracy and Mediation in Albania. It is supported by the National Endowment for Democracy, Regional Cooperation Council, Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative, Romanian Academic Society and Blueprint for Free Speech.
Coalition staff and members have spoken at conferences and events in countries including Ukraine and Paris.
