South Carolina Cloud

The South Carolina Cloud is Clemson University's cloud computing system that provides a realm for higher educational institutions, information technology professionals, and commercial agencies. The South Carolina Cloud is hosted at Clemson University's information technology center where its partners can get connected to a 1,629-node Linux cluster of Dell, IBM, HP, and Sun gear PCs. Each node consists of a physical server with two sockets that each hold quad core processors, meaning there is a total of 14,304 server cores. High performance computing, data modeling, online and mobile commerce, virtualization, and Web 2.0 applications make up the South Carolina Cloud.
