Sophie Firth (May 2009 - 11 December 2012) was an English child actor who died at age of 3. Career Beginning in August 2009, she appeared in Emmerdale as Angelica King, the daughter of Nicola King and Jimmy King. Firth's parents are Doncaster Council employees. Death On 2 December 2012, Sophie was rushed to hospital in Sheffield after her dress caught alight on a gas fire in her grandmother's home, latterly transferred to hospital in Newcastle. Sophie was given a skin graft on 7 December, but her organs began to fail after a blood infection. She died in hospital in Newcastle nine days after the clothing fire, on 11 December, from 70 per cent burns. |
