Solar Party

A Solar Party is a social gathering of people for the purpose of learning more about solar hot water, solar photovoltaic, passive solar design and other solar concepts. The Solar Party concept is much like a Tupperware Party. These parties originated in California sometime around spring of 2008. Often solar parties are held in the homes of individuals that already own some sort of solar powered system. Neighbors are invited to socialize, enjoy their favorite beverage and learn about various solar and sustainable green processes. Peak oil, global warming and “green living” concepts are shining light upon the solar industry. Governments around the world are embracing new and better ways to produce electricity. Although not considered the only solution, solar power is in the limelight for expansion around the globe. Solar Parties are expected to be one of the major driving factors to this success.
