Sober Spike

Sober Spike is a pop-punk band from Hemet, California. The band's current line-up is Blake McCowan (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Myk Diaz (Bass), Grant Butler (lead guitar) and Chris Lara (drums). The band was originally started in the summer of 2006 by Blake and former guitarist, Wryan Bott. However, the band did not play any shows or add any other members until July, 2008.
Sober Spike is quickly becoming one of the biggest up-and-coming bands in the Inland Empire. They have played a couple of times at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA, opened for 100% Sublime (featured in the Valley Chronicle) and played all three rounds in "the most riveting SoCal Concert Series in 2010", called "Skinnie Magazine's Top 100 Bands Festival", and are to be featured in the May 2010 issue of Skinnie Magazine as one of the top 100 bands in the SoCal scene.
Sober Spike is planning to record a demo sometime in the near future.
Band History
Formation (2006)
Sober Spike was formed by guitarist Blake McCowan and guitarist Ryan Bott. The decision to form a band came when Ryan returned from his dad's house in Arkansas. Blake went to Ryan's house, and they decided that they wanted to form a band. For the name, they wanted something that was different, but simple. They needed something catchy and brand new. In the end, they found the perfect name. After about ten minutes writing random words on a whiteboard they came up with "Sober Spike". "Butterflies" and "Make This Last".
