Snooker plus

Snooker plus (sometimes spelled snooker-plus) is a cue sport based on snooker. The variant was created by Joe Davis, who added an orange ball (8 points) and a purple ball (10 points) to the set. The idea was that this would increase the maximum break from 147 to 210, and so help to attract a greater audience. At the end of the frame, the six standard snooker colours are potted in their usual order, followed by orange and purple. If the frame ends in a tie, then the purple is respotted on the black spot. The variation failed to catch on, and the extra necessary to play the game are not available from any major supplier.
