SmarteScript is a GUI-driven software test automation tool for automating the testing of software applications. It uses a patented methodology which is quite different from that of other test automation tools, as follows. Instead of Record & Playback, or manual scripting, SmarteScript automatically learns the structure of the application under test, and then generates a grid that the user can edit to create test cases. Scripts and test case documentation are then generated automatically, and need never be directly manipulated. This makes creation and maintenance of sophisticated test scripts feasible for a broad range of people. SmarteScript is listed in the 2009 Gartner Magic Quadrant for such tools, a recognition given only to those with significant market presence. |
