Simcoe Panorama

The Simcoe Panorama is a special event that occurs in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada (Norfolk County) during the month of December. During this time, there is a special vendor that serves taffy to the winter tourists and curious residents of the town. During the first night of lighting, fireworks are let off into the sky. In the past, American, British and Canadian flags were used in the festivities while the images of Jesus Christ near the little chapel remind us that Christmas is on the way. Due to budgeting reasons, the light display with the three national flags are no longer held. The lights are held in the same park where the Friendship Festival is held in the summertime.

At one time, the grandeur of the lights of the Panorama were roughly the equivalent of Niagara Falls but now that distinction is lost ever since Niagara Falls started to remain open year-round with the opening of the Casino Niagara. During the 2006 display year, a special section was held in the northwest corner of the park for superhero light displays, most notably Spider-Man.
