Shravan Kummar

Shravan Kummar Ramaswamy (born 1976) is an Indian fashion designer, He is known for his vintage-inspired embroideries. Apart from this into accessories, jewellery and Event Management.
Early life and Education
Born and brought up in Hyderabad. Despite securing 363rd rank in the medical entrance test, his passion for the creative rhythmic processes of weaving, spinning couldn't hold him far away for too long.
He then enrolled in National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad and has begun his journey as a designer within 1991 just one master and two tailors in the year 1996. He also graduated with a master's degree from London School of Fashion Designing in color psychology as well as holds a Master of Business Administration.
Career
In the year 1996, Shravan designed his first line of garments with ‘Kalamkari’ fabric which included separates and cardigans. he worked with Pochampally, Chirala, Kerala Bharath Society and Narayanpet.
In the year 2000, he realized that there is a lot of space for co-cultural review of Banarasi weaves. Shravan became enamoured with vintage saris and started studying the weaves of saris.

His clothes have been worn by celebrities such as Anushka Shetty, Priyanka Jawalkar, Nandita Das, Shabana Azmi, Nayantara and , Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Mammootty and Chiranjeevi.
Awards and Honors
* He is one of the Indian fashion designers to be selected as a "NIXON DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER" to Cornell University in New York where he had orated about our Indian Handlooms and textiles. He is one of the designers who had been working with and supporting many weaver's communities across India.
* He has been awarded "The certificate of Excellence" from "Council for industrial & Trade Development India" addressing his brand, Shravan Studio for expertise in transferring the true essence of Indian tradition and creating new trends and designs in garments.
Social Responsibility
* 2015 "Couture for a Cause", a fundraiser fashion show was held in the year 2015, in aid of a liver foundation that works towards helping children with liver diseases. Tollywood celebrities and some socio-economically elite people like Nani, Rashi Khanna, Prashanti Tipirneni, Kanika Dhillon to name a few walked the ramp in support of this cause.
* 2017 and 2018 In order to raise funds for ill healthy children, Shravan Ramaswamy has been associated with “Heal- a- child” foundation from Hyderabad and did a charity show for two consecutive years 2017 and 2018 where a socio-economically elite group of couples walked the ramp showcasing the handloom weaves of India.
