Shop Titans

Shop Titans is a 2019 video game in the shop management simulation genre, featuring elements of strategy and automated combat. It was developed by the Canadian studio Kabam Games, Inc. The game was initially released for mobile platforms (iOS and Android) and was later ported to PC.
Gameplay
In Shop Titans, the player assumes the role of a shopkeeper in a medieval fantasy town. The core gameplay revolves around crafting and selling equipment to heroes who embark on quests, explore dungeons, and fight monsters. To grow their business, players hire craftsmen who create a variety of items, ranging from weapons and armor to accessories and magical artifacts. These items can be sold to customers or used to equip heroes.
Players can set prices, negotiate with clients, and upgrade their shop by adding new furniture, decorations, and functional elements that enhance production efficiency or profits. An important gameplay feature is the recruitment of heroes from different classes, who can be equipped and sent on adventures to gather resources needed for crafting more valuable items. Over time, both craftsmen and heroes can be upgraded, gaining access to new skills, crafting recipes, and equipment.
The gameplay blends economic strategy with RPG elements, where effective shop management directly impacts the success of heroes in combat and exploration. The game includes multiplayer features: players can join guilds, cooperate in shared events, and trade items, adding a social and cooperative layer to the simulation.

Reception
Mobile platforms
On mobile, Shop Titans received highly favorable user ratings. On the App Store, the game holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 based on over 46,000 reviews, while on Google Play it holds 4.2 out of 5, with approximately 168,000 reviews.
PC
As of August 2025, Shop Titans has over 17,000 user reviews on Steam, with 78% positive ratings, categorized as "Mostly Positive." However, on the review aggregator Metacritic, the PC version received generally unfavorable reviews. The average critic score is 42 out of 100 based on five reviews, while the user score is 3.9 out of 10 from 23 ratings.
Critics largely agreed that Shop Titans remains a mobile simulator at its core and that its adaptation for PC failed to meet expectations due to simplistic gameplay and aggressive monetization. Ned Jordan of Gamers' Temple noted that while the game begins as a simple yet enjoyable economic simulator, it quickly becomes dominated by waiting for timers to expire. Daniel Gusinski of Screen Rant described the PC version as "slow and aggressively monetized," with minimal differences from the mobile version.
Scott Wiley of GameSpace criticized the "excessive" monetization, observing that while it is possible to ignore at first, the game increasingly imposes obstacles that incentivize spending. Renan Fontes of Cubed3 offered the harshest criticism, calling the game "video game slop" designed strictly for a mobile audience, where progress depends heavily on microtransactions and a paid subscription model.
In contrast, Nathaniel Stevens of Digital Chumps offered a more favorable view, stating that the game offers more depth than expected from a casual title. While he acknowledged the typical free-to-play structure, he noted that it is possible to play without spending money, provided the player is patient. However, he criticized the PC version’s controls as inferior compared to the mobile version.
