Shiv Kotecha

Shiv Kiotecha is a poet and a writer based in New York. He is a published author of two books and his art writings and criticism can be found in such publications as frieze, The Brooklyn Rail, and The Los Angeles Review of Books. Kotecha hosts a regularly occurring reading series in Manhattan called The Chateau which has featured an assortment of artists and poets such as Tommy Pico, Kay Gabriel, Rindon Johnson, Diana Hamilton, Hannah Black, and Andrew Durbin.
Early life and education
Kotecha is a PhD candidate at NYU's Department of English.
Work
Kotecha has written two books: EXTRIGUE published in 2015 by Make Now and The Switch published by Wonder in 2018. Corina Copp writes of Kotecha's adept ability for writing between genres in The Switch, "Kotecha’s ballast is clearly his feeling for the radiance of form-switching itself." He currently serves as an editor at frieze magazine and has written reviews and features on artists B. Wurtz, Huma Bhabha, TM Davy, and Cy Gavin amongst others.
Kotecha nods to a variety of genre-bending writers in his work like Samuel Delany, Anne Garréta, Edgar Allen Poe, Herve Guibert, and Herman Melville.
