Only 5 months after it's launch, " Yahdoth fe MASR - happening in Egypt " on MBC MASR is already among the top 3 most watched programs in Egypt. MBC MASR, has been ranked FIRST on top of the most watched TV stations in Egypt according to recent ratings by Epsos. For the past 5 years, Sherif Amer had been linked to the most credible TV coverage on Egypt's turbulent years since 2011. He was chosen as the most trusted TV personality reporting on Egypt's revolution in 2011. In his daily program , Sherif Amer was able to interview first class Egyptian and International political dignitaries. Among which ; Mrs. Hillary R. Clinton in her first and only Interview as Secretary of State to an Egyptian or Arab TV anchor, Former US President Jimmy Carter, Tunisian President Monssef el Marzouki, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as other international dignitaries. On a more Local aspect, Being chosen as the most credible Egyptian TV personality to report on the January 25th revolution, He was granted the first interview for 4 prime ministers in the past 4 years as well as the first interview for a private TV station with former president Mohamed Morsi. Just after Egyptians had their second round of the revolution in June 30, 2013, Sherif Amer was the only TV personality to get the one interview granted by Noble Prize winner & the Egyptian Vice President Dr. Mohamed el Baradaei after his appointment During the constitutional referendum and the Egyptian presidential elections following June 30th 2013, Sherif Amer and his Production team introduced the the first ever TV exit poll in Egyptian as well as Arab TV history. The program " Yahdoth fe MASR - Happening in Egypt " results were only 10 minutes after polling stations closure, with less than 1% difference. On Egypt’s first presidential elections ( 2012 ), only few hours after the voting, He was the first anchor to project the most accurate independent election results in Egypt & the Arab World. The same happened with the 2014 Presidential elections Since the January 2011 Revolution and through out the major events that took place, Sherif Amer became the longest working anchor person to stay on air reporting live for 15 hours. On yet another level , Sherif Amer was the only Egyptian or Arab TV personality to be granted an inside look in Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California to produce a series of 5 special episodes from Google. Sherif Amer, produced and hosted the series. Experience For 22 years, Amer's career was linked to a diversity of experiences that accumulated in leading print, and television establishments. During the Nineties, Amer joined the first Egyptian English speaking TV channel “Nile TV International” to pursue a career in news anchoring, special events and hard news coverage. Moving afterwards to Nile News TV, Amer was reporting as well as producing and presenting documentaries and weekly live shows from Israel and the Palestinian territories. In addition to his career in the Egyptian television, Amer joined the leading pan Arab MBC Channel in mid-2001 as content manager for its Cairo Regional Production Center. A year later, he became involved in the recruitment of Anchors, News Producers and journalists for Al Arabia TV. In 2004, he moved to the US to join the Arabic speaking Al Hurra TV. His work at Al Hurra involved in moderating Live Shows in addition to hosting daily news shows. Al Hurra has gained leverage within Egypt’s intellectual and political circles.
