Shelley Breen

Shelley Lynn Phillips Breen (born May 1, 1969) is one-third of the Contemporary Christian Music group Point of Grace. She has won 12 Dove Awards with Point of Grace.
Background
Breen was born and raised into a Christian family. After moving several times, her family finally settled down in Little Rock, Arkansas. She sang in her school's choir, where, in 7th grade, she performed her first solo, Olivia Newton-John's "I Honestly Love You."
After graduating high school, Breen got a scholarship to Ouachita Baptist University where she majored in vocal performance. At Ouachita she was a member of the Chi Delta women's social club. She hosted gigs at Tiger Tunes, Ouachita's annual variety show, and the Praise Singers, a singing group that travelled across the country putting on concerts. She even auditioned for Truth. Denise Masters came back to their dorm room late one night and told her about her plans to travel around the country and sing with friends Terry Lang and Heather Floyd over that summer. Breen suggested that the trio turned into a quartet, and together they became Say So. Two years and a name change later, the quartet signed with Word Records and began work on their debut album, which would establish them as one of Contemporary Christian Music's best-known groups.
Point Of Grace
Breen has achieved much success with Point of Grace, with 10 Dove Awards, 18 Dove nominations, 2 Grammy nominations, 6 Gold albums, 2 Platinum albums and 27 #1 singles, as well as national media exposure in television including The View, Entertainment Tonight, Donny & Marie, CNN Worldbeat, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and CBS This Morning. Breen has written 10 books as a member of Point of Grace and has also joined her fellow group mates appearing in Women of Faith conferences. In 2002, the group developed the Girls of Grace conferences. Until the release of the album No Changin' Us, Breen had been the only Point of Grace member to have co-written a song on one of their albums. She co-wrote the track "The Love He Has For You" on their second album, The Whole Truth.
Personal life
Breen married her husband, David, a booking agent, on November 23, 1996. They have one daughter, Caroline, born September 8, 2002, and reside in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Breen, along with Denise Jones, Heather Payne, Terry Jones and Leigh Cappillino has proudly supported Mercy Ministries of America, a non-profit organization for women who face life-controlling issues such as self-mutilation, sexual abuse, and unplanned pregnancies. The group has also been supporting Compassion International.
