Shawnee Hills Wine Trail

The Shawnee Hills Wine Trail is the oldest wine trail in Illinois and is located in Jackson and Union counties in Southern Illinois. It is the only wine trail that is fully located within the boundaries of the Shawnee Hills American Viticultural Area.
The wine trail was organized in 1995 by the first three wineries in the region, Alto Vineyards, Owl Creek Vineyard and Pomona Winery. Additional wineries have opened nearly every year with 12 wineries now located on the driving trail.
All twelve wineries on the trail have competed and received medals in various local, national and international wine competitions. Together, with over 500 competition medals, the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail is sure to have something for everyone, even beginner wine drinkers.
