Shanon Mayer

Shanon Mayer (February 6, 1978) is the author of the Chronicles of the Chosen, a series of young adult fantasy novels. She graduated from Clark College in Vancouver, Washington in 2010 and is currently attending Washington State University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems.
Her debut novel, Sphere of Power, was released on May 31, 2011. Her second novel in the series, Veil of Deception, was released December 15, 2011. The third novel in the series is due to be released Winter 2012.
Her works focus heavily on fantasy and mythical creatures, and she adapts legends from many cultures to use as characters and plot drivers in her stories.
Early Life and Education
Mayer was born to Judy and Dan Mayer on February 6, 1978 in Portland, Oregon. She was raised in Vancouver, Washington and has one sibling, older brother Jesse Mayer. Mayer showed an interest in literature at an early age, penning stories through elementary school and beyond.
After graduating high school, Mayer took time off to develop her writing skills, but finally returned to school in 2007. She attended Clark College, received two awards for scholastic achievement and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. She received her Associate's degree in 2010 and transferred to Washington State University's Vancouver campus, where she continued her education in Business Administration, with a focus on Management Information Systems.
