Shamrock Acres

Shamrock Acres is a Century Farm established in Coffee County, Tennessee in 1818 by Margaret McMichael of Ireland. Margaret McMichael chose along the present-day Cheatham Springs to Fairfield Road because it was an "uneven landscape so like Ireland fertile bottom land." She and her five children produced chiefly corn, wheat, hay, fruit, and garden vegetables as commodity crops. they also bred high-quality livestock.
In 1846, Margaret's son William McMichael and his wife Sophronia (Ross) inherited the farm. During the Civil War, five of their sons fought for the Confederate army. The precise record of the family ownership after William and Sophronia is uncertain.
In 1935, Leona McMichael and her husband Dallas L. Jacobs acquired Shamrock Acres at a size of . As of 1976, they had added to the property and currently produce corn, wheat, soybeans and cattle.
