Career Sumi made her debut as an actress in the television director Salahuddin Lavlu's Sonar Pakhi Rupar Pakhi in 2016. She was a contestant in the Channel-I dance competition. She made her film debut in 2018 in Iti, Tomari Dhaka. In 2019, Sumi was cast in Ghiasuddin Selim's Paap Punno film. Sumi has a lead role in the 2022 football film Damal staring Siam Ahmed and Bidya Sinha Mim.
