Shaggybevo.com in the Media
Shaggybevo.com is recognized by major news outlets like the New York Times as a source for information geared towards sports fans of The University of Texas.
Though the majority of posts relate to the opinions of the posters themselves, several newsworthy events have been reported by site users. For example, former University of Texas player Ramonce Taylor's conviction for felony possession of marijuana was reported by a member eyewitness to the court proceedings prior to subsequent release of this story in other online and print media.
Shaggybevo.com's recurring "MSPaint Thread of Dominance" is an annual tribute to users' purposefully primitive artwork depicting themes related to the annual University of Texas vs. University of Oklahoma football game. Several news outlets have referenced this comic relief. The event is held annually at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas during the Texas State Fair. This longstanding rivalry is played on what most consider "neutral ground" for both teams nearly halfway between Austin, Texas and Norman, Oklahoma.
