The Senior Master Sgt. Gerald J. Stryzak Award is the annual award that honors SMSgt Stryzak, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician who died in an aircraft crash in Egypt in 1980 while participating in a tactical rapid response exercise. The award recognizes the EOD Flight (winner and runner-up) that distinguished itself as the year's top performer through sustained superior mission support and outstanding achievement. Past Winners 2007 - Patrick Air Force Base 45th EOD Flight 2006 - McChord Air Force Base 446th EOD Flight Eligibility All United States Air Force Civil Engineer EOD Flights, regardless of location or size, are eligible. |
