Nowadays as the internet has spread around the world, more and more kinds of goods are being sold in Japan. Vegetables are included.According to “the president of oisix” article, a company for selling vegetables online - Oisix - was set up first in Japan, at June 2000. The president learned that some vegetables are grown with so many agricultural chemicals that the producers think they are not safe and that they don’t eat them. This motivated him to sell safe vegetables. So Oisix pursue safety of the vegetables.(“the president of Oisix ” ,2014). According to web “Oisix”, they guarantee 3 points. First, they have sought for agricultural-chemical-free vegetables and second, they have strictly regulate the amount of food additives and third, they have checked whether vegetables include radioactive materials. (“Oisix”, 2014).
Moreover, the article of “the president of Oisix ” say that they want to make the vegetables more meeting customers’ needs than those selling directly. Oisix has researched when customers eat their vegetables and how they cook their vegetables and so on.(“the president of Oisix” ,2014).
According to website “Key for succeeding”, Hyakusyo-tai(party of farmers) is also selling vegetables online. On their website, the farmers tried to pay a lot of attention to customers’ satisfaction and communicate a lot with them. For example, if some customer complain that its vegetables has rut, they will deeply apologize him/her and send a lot of vegetables as a token of their apology. Or they express welcome to your calling them and telling how their vegetables are cooked(“What made selling vegetables succeed”, 2014).

As more and more Americans are paying attention to their health problems, quite a few families set up their own small farms to feed themselves with the homemade non-pesticide vegetables. However, this kind of household management of production not only cannot make a profit, but also make plenty of the vegetables to be waste due to the short-expiration period of vegetables. To solve this tricky problem, one California farm family started a new try. They attempted to use social media to sell the extra vegetables in an effort to reduce the food to be wasted. That lifts a new business boom in U.S.A------selling vegetables online.(“Have you ever bought vegetables on Facebook?”, 2013)
Nick Papadopoulos, a farmer from Petaluma, created the website called CropMobster to sell the surplus vegetables which is about to be wasted in farm to people who need them at a low price. Mr. Papadopoulos used to work as a consultant and came late to agriculture. That special experience gave him a new point of view about the wasted food and set about this online business after watching his employees coming back from the market with a lot unsold vegetables for several times.
“Imagine if 40% of mobile devices rolled off the assembly line and went immediately to landfill? That's crazy," said by Papadopoulos. "Somehow in food it's become accepted.”(“CropMobster” 2014).
According to Papadopoulos, besides reducing the food to be wasted, the websites also aims to help farmers like himself, who do not have time to sell the surplus food through normal ways after busy farm work. That also provides such cheap but high-quality food to some volunteer organization which can be used in relief activities.
CropMobster is only one of the trial of selling vegetables online. As the high-tech of the Internet is so fast-developing, this kind of website or online business will attract more sellers and buyers. Since it is able to bring profit to vender while do good to our society, more and more “CropMobster” is expected.
