Sednaya Prison Syrian crematorium atrocities

On May 15, the US State Department reported that the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad has constructed a crematorium which it uses to dispose of bodies of thousands of people who have been killed in the Sednaya Prison near government controlled Damascus. The construction of the alleged crematorium has been ongoing for awhile and the facility had recently become operational. The information on its purpose - to hide the evidence of thousands of extrajudicial executions - has come from the intelligence community and human rights groups such as Amnesty International.
According to Amnesty International, between 25 and 50 killings are carried out at the prison per week.
