Plot
The story follows Giles, played by Charlie Redif, a teenager who has just lost his job as a paperboy. He struggles to get his feet back on the ground, until he meets Dr. Skittle Von Housen, played by Alistair Aitken, a mad scientist who agrees to give Giles a job. After weeks of working together Giles finally seems settled in however, after a clumsy accident, Giles ruins the doctors new experiments. The distraught doctor then orders Giles to get rid the now 'toxic' waste and Giles, rather lazily, dumps it in a nearby stream. This has a catastrophic affect. The chemicals get into the whole of London's water supply and makes the water coming out of anyone's tap deadly to drink, wash and even touch. This new deadly substance converts people into brainless-flesh-eating-zombie-mutant-things. it is then up to Giles to restore the peace and save London from a terrible fate.
Cast
Charlie Redif as Giles: A lazy teenager who must protect London from a horrible fate after he stupidly contaminated the water supply of the whole city.
Alistair Aitken as Dr. Skittle Von Housen: A scientist who hires Giles as his assistant. This is what leads to the contamination spreading.
Tariq Sayed as Melvin: Giles' trusty friend who accompanies him on his journey protect London.
Production
Development
The idea, reportedly, sprung to producer Tariq Sayed, at the beginning of July 2009, while he was drinking a bottle of water and thought to himself 'imagine if there was something in here that turned me into a brainless zombie?' He then began talks with executive producer/ agent, Jacob Knott and another associate Producer and long-term colleague in Cameron Bowe. They we both interested and had the green light to go. Sayed immediately began work on a script later that month.
Writting
After about 2-3 weeks of intensive writing, Sayed was ready to present his ideas to his piers. The response was good and immediately began work on casting and the visuals for the film. However, they still needed a studio involved. So, with their collective 'do-it-your-self' attitude they set up their own film company named 'DiamondBack Studios'. This was their tool for spreading the word and attracting actors.
Casting
Sayed cast friend and actor Charlie Redif to take up the lead role. An early statement that was released told of Sayed talking highly of Redif and saying (rather jokily) 'i have every faith in Charlie to rise up to the challenge of playing a lazy, good-for-nothing teenager'. Alistair Aitken was then suggested by Cameron Bowe to portray one of the leading roles, the crazy Dr. Skittle Von Housen. After the leads were chosen, Sayed turned to friend and colleague Josh Stack to play one of the main Zombie-Mutant roles. Probably the craziest of them all. The People behind the scenes did their part as well, such as Bowe, appearing as one of the mutants.
Filming
Filming Finally on the 3rd of August 2009 the first shot of Scrambled Brains On Toast was filmed, they shot seven days a week for the next 4 weeks. Filming then slowed down as one of the leading cast members had personal issues to attend to. Despite this the film stayed on schedule and the production team managed to dodge what could have been a fatal blow to the project. The film is now ready to be edited and pick-up shot are now being shot. It will be ready in time for the christmas break so strap your seat-belts and prepare for one hell of a journey.
