Scottish Broadcasting Corporation

Scottish Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) (Gaelic: BC na hA) is the proposed name which would be given to an independent broadcasting corporation in Scotland to succeed the UK wide BBC. The name first came into usage when the Scotland's nationalist SNP government called for broadcasting rights to be devolved to the Scottish Parliament. Whether the SBC would simply be a renaming of the current BBC Scotland/BBC Alba or an entirely new body altogether remains to be seen.
