Scott Spear was first mentioned in 2006 when Tania Jeffries started dating Anthony Richards who worked at Scott Spear. Anthony stole files from his workplace and set to work researching and finding out information about the pills the company was supplying, he then used this information to secure a job in an opposition company overseas. John Grainger, head of the company confronted Ant saying that it would be breach of contract if he left Scott Spear. Later Ant pretended to leave the country as to make Scott Spear think he had left as he thought he was in serious danger. On his return, he had a meeting with John Grainger who told him that Tanias house was bugged and that they knew everything. He then told him that if he accepted the job, there would be direr consequences. On 11 October 2006, thugs placed two bombs in Anthony's car. Huia Samuels had an argument with Sarah Potts in the carpark and seeing that her car was blocked off, decided to take Ants car as she had the keys. As she turned on the ignition, the car blew up into a ball of fire killing her instantly. Ant then went into hiding to keep Tania safe.
2008
Sarah Potts went to a patients house she had received a call from. It turned out to be Anthony Richards. He had been in the house since 2006 and had covered all the windows. He had been collecting information on Scott Spear. Craig Valentine took an interest in Anthony after a patient was bought into ED after suffering from a faulty drug distributed by Scott Spear. He took a job at Scott Spear and was seen by John Grainger sneaking pills to investigate them. It was soon discovered Grainger had a book filled with people that were on the Scott Spear hit list. Justine Jones was caught taking photos of it by Grainger so she seduced him. Craig also discovered Scott Spears dodgey drugs contributed to the death of Toni Warner. Craig managed to steal the book and while he was traveling down a country road to his leaving Shortland Street party, Don Lennox and some whitetail gang members barged him off the road and chased him through a forest. Craig hid the book but was beaten to death and then torched in his car. Justine later found the book and handed it in. But Scott Spear and the Whitetails were after her and placed a bomb in her car. She found it though and managed to set it off without her being in the car so the Whitetails thought they had successfully killed her. Justine then went into witness protection in Australia to wait until the trial.
2009
Between October 2008 and June 2009, John Grainger was made redundant from Scott-Spear due to his involvement in the ordeal but quickly hired by an opposing company. Justine Jones returned from witness protection in July 2009 to testify against John Grainger and Scott Spear. John Grainger confronted Justine's daughter Sophie McKay telling her to tell Justine to back off. Don Lennox attempted to shoot her but accidentally shot Brooke Freeman instead but she survived. Justine returned to Australia after the trial. In 2010 it was revealed that the dodgy Scott Spear drug company is now facing billions of dollars worth of fines due to the deaths of several people and distributing faulty medication. It was also revealed John Grainger was imprisoned.
