Scott Melker

Scott Melker, better known as The Melker Project is a DJ and musician living in New York City. Born in Torrance, California and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Scott began playing the piano and singing at the age of 5. He won numerous piano competitions as a child. At the age of 18, Scott moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania. Melker's DJ career began in Philadelphia, playing records at local nightclubs and college parties.
In his 16 year career, Scott has played gigs around the world alongside notable DJs and diverse acts, including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Gloria Estefan, DJ Cash Money, King Britt, DJ AM, Public Enemy, Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh, Biz Markie, Raekwon, Kanye West, Wu Tang, Pete Rock, Evil Dee, Q-Tip, Sheryl Crow, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Ne-Yo, T.I., The Ying Yang Twins, Jet Daughtry and many others. Scott was also the DJ for the Summer Haze Tour in 2007, alongside G. Love, Slightly Stoopid, and Ozomatli. In addition to entertaining crowds live, Scott is hard at work producing critically acclaimed mixes. In alliance with The Rub’s Cosmo Baker as “The CMB,” the duo released “Live at the Spotlite,” flexing their proficiency in the genre of New Jack Swing to the delight of music aficionado’s worldwide. This CD was added to a time capsule in Honolulu, HI. Scott also released “Live in Tokyo,” a mix recorded live during the "We For Real" show, a 38 city stadium tour in Japan in support of Japanese soul superstar, Toshinobu Kubota. The mix received rave reviews and became one of the fastest selling of the year. In the past couple of years, Scott has released, "Knockin Boots," Knockin Boots 2," and "Melker Episode 1." His mix "The Melker Project," was download over 10,000 times on mixpicks.com.
As The Melker Project hiss remixes have also gained him critical acclaim. Most notably, his remix of Jay-Z and Lana Del Rey topped the charts on hypem.com and was one of the most heavily listened to tracks on the internet when it was released
Scott has worked with numerous recording artists as part of their stage shows, including Izza Kizza and Toshinobu Kubota.
