scorio (from engl. music score and ital. io (engl.: I, me) in the sense of "I write music scores") is an online community for musicians to write, publish and find sheet music on the web. History and Relevance A beta version of scorio.com was launched in May 2010. On November 15, 2010 public service has been started. The scorio note editor is an online scorewriter. It uses GNU LilyPond as layout engine. Whereas WebLily requires textual input, scorio provides a graphical user interface for WYSIWYG editiing. scorio is different by relying on HTML5 to render music scores. This allows scorio to run on plattforms not supporting Flash such as Apple's iPad. As compared to most other scorewriters, scorio does not require any software installation on the users's computer, since it is running in web browsers. scorio has been reviewed by Delamar, Jazz Drummer World, Musikpädagogik Online, Drummer and Percussion , and Musikmachen.de amongst others. Note Editor Functions The interactive note editor is a scorewriter for writing and editing ('engraving') sheet music. The HTML5-based note editor can only be used on the web using a web browser. scorio uses LilyPond to compute the layout of music symbols.
