Personal life
Saturnino de la Fuente García was born on 11 February 1909) in Léon, Spain.
He still lives in Léon and is cared for by his daughter and son-in-law. He then became the oldest man in Europe following the death of Romanian Dumitru Comanescu (aged 111 years, 219 days) on 27 June 2020. On 30 September 2021, De la Fuente García was verified as the oldest living man by Guinness World Records, succeeding Emilio Flores Márquez of Puerto Rico, who had died on 12 August 2021, aged 113 years, 4 days.
When questioned on the secret to his longevity, De la Fuente García replied "A quiet life...and do not hurt anyone."<ref name=":0" />
