File:Sarthak Mohapatra born to father Dr. Srikant Mohapatra and mother Dr. Manasi Goswami on 1st September , 1995 is a multi-talented kid from Bhubaneswar, Orissa. At his age , he is a singer, music composer, lyricist, instrumentalist, a volleyball player and last but not the least, a bright student.
Early life
Sarthak was born to an orthodox Bengali-brahmin family Goswamis. His mother was then a student at Delhi university and his father was also a student in Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU), New Delhi. Sarthak was born in the city of cuttack, Orissa on 1st September, 1995. As reported by his mother, sarthak was like other babies in his childhood, mischievous, funny, adorable. But unlike other kids, he liked to remain silent most of the time as if he was lost in his own world. After his father was transferred to Patna, Bihar when he got a job in IGNOU, so he also had to move with him to Patna. He was 2-3 years old then. He had good friends there, although they were far elder to sarthak. But anyone talking with him was surely impressed. His mother was his first teacher, she taught him all the basic duties of an individual. Sarthak was interested in watching Television mostly like other kids. By the age of 4, he could write letters to his favorite superhero “ Shaktiman”. Then as her mother got a job in RIE, Bhubaneswar, so he moved with her to the temple city- Bhubaneswar. There began his new phase of life.
Sarthak , in his early years used to continuously suffer from Asthema due to genetical reasons. His mother was really worried about his Asthematic problem. She did her best to free him out of this deadly disease, but all in vain. Sarthak’s first school was called “East Point School”. Then he studied in Bhubaneswar Nursery Primary School( KG and Prep). Then the family moved into the RIE campus in the year 1999, where they faced the Famous super cyclone of 1999. In the year 2001, Sarthak joined the Demonstration Multipurpose School( D.M. School). He was as usual a quiet and silent boy in his early school days. His mother arranged a good art teacher and a music vocal teacher in the year 2001. Sarthak in his early days was mostly seen interested in art and painting and no special interest in music. He learned painting very quickly and also got a First prize in his very first year in D.M. school. Even though he had no such special interest in music, still then he got a first prize in vocal music competiton in class 1. But then who had thought in those days, that this boy will grow into a boy with extraordinary musical skills, vocal skills, composing power.
Mid-Years:
Surprising enough, the boy who was seen mostly devoting his time in painting, lost all the interest which he had for painting. After class 3, he never got a single prize in painting competitions that were held in his school. But more importantly, he stood 1st in music competitons for 5 consecutive years in his school. He recognized that he was made for music and concentrated hard on it. Studies had never been a worry for him. He was always good at it although not the best, but he was always able to match up with the toppers of his class. Then his mother bought all that he required to practice vocal music. She also arranged a professional music teacher whose name was Harapriya Pati. Even today Sarthak continues to learn music from the same teacher. He participated in music competitions but could not get much success in the early days. But he never lost hope. Then in 2005, he had his best day, when the whole auditorium of Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, heavily appreciated him after his performance in a prestigious state-level music competition called Akshaya Utsav which was conducted in the memory of Late Sri Akshaya Mohanty, famous singer of Orissa. He was awarded 1st. That filled in him a desire to do more. Moreover, singing stopped his frequent asthema attacks and eventually the disease left him foreover. He was also good at quiz.
