Sammy Andrews

Sammy Andrews (born 25 February 1985, in Richmond, North Yorkshire) is a British music manager and marketing consultant.

Andrews was guitarist/vocalist in various bands in her teens when she started taking an interest in concert promotion and the music industry. By the age of 14 she was promoting concerts all over the North East in Richmond, Darlington and Newcastle upon Tyne, including the Richmond Live Festival. She then moved to Newcastle to study Sound Production and Music Industry at Newcastle University in 2003. During this time she managed various small acts and ran club nights throughout Newcastle. Records show she began booking bands for large events at The Carling Academy and Legends in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear including club nights, touring bands and Battle Of The Bands. She also worked for North East promotion company Insangel with Phil Hughes.

Management

She met Ginger, the front man of UK rock band The Wildhearts, at a gig in January 2005 and a friendship formed which lead on to her managing him during the release of Valor Del Corazon. Andrews is credited for vocals on the album Valor Del Corazon on the track "Ugly". Together the pair set up Round Records and using Andrews' online marketing skills had a very successful release for Valor Del Corazon. She then tour managed the Ginger and The Sonic Circus tour of the UK in March 2006.

During her time with Ginger she met her partner and producer Ralph Jezzard. In April 2006 Andrews and Ginger parted ways.

Shortly after the split, Andrews moved to London where she set up as a freelance consultant to the music industry. She worked for one year at Simon Fuller's company 19 Entertainment as an in-house marketing consultant but left to follow an independent career.

Marketing
She speaks very publicly about her passion for music and the changing industry on her blogs. At time of writing (25.09.07) it is believed she is in the process of writing a book on the state of the music industry with focus on the world of online promotion and how it is changing the structure of record deals and distribution plans.

Her blogs state that she is currently starting her own company with partner Ralph Jezzard to house a marketing team, management and production. She also states that she is now managing UK rock band Rebel Yell
